This site is dedicated to the memory of Carol Hart.
Our beloved sister Carol lost her 13 month battle against ovarian cancer on the 6th December 2009 at age 44. She was a remarkable woman in that in all the time that she had this dreadful disease she never once asked "why me". In fact she even stated at one time when faced with the question "why not me, what makes me so special".
It is hard to come to terms with this when one looks at the survival rates for other developed nations compared to the UK. In Britain it is generally much lower, due to a lack of awareness and early detection. This is symbolised by the well known expression for Ovarian Cancer in the UK as the Silent Disease. Something must be done about it. As I draft this note the paper is getting wet with the tears that I am shedding for both Carol and the other innocent ladies who are going to come to an often unnecessary and premature end due to this Cancer.
Hopefully we can make a difference by supporting such funds as this, as it is clear that Ovarian Cancer survival has a very low priority in the Government scheme of things.
Dearest Carol, if your going can make a difference, then our family will bear the tragedy and loss with at least some hope for the future. Carol was an amazing Sister, Auntie and Friend and we all miss her so much. She was an inspiration to everyone who met her and we are so proud to have known her.
